The purpose of Minor Hockey is to promote a fun and safe environment where kids can learn about the game of hockey. Minor hockey is open to boys and girls ages 5-15. No skill level is required.

Age Divisions:
The age divisions for Hockey Canada are as of December 31 of the current playing year.
Squirt/Pre Novice/Initiation – 5 & 6
Novice – 7 & 8
Atom – 9 & 10
Pee Wee – 11 & 12
Bantam – 13 & 14
Midget – 15 & 16

Winkler Minor Hockey: Online registration for hockey begins in spring of the year and must be completed by early September.

2017/18 Season is underway with teams in place, please visit for schedules, teams and standing. In person registration is also available in early September, check website for announcements in August. First time registrants, please bring a copy of birth certificate to the in-person registration or email it to

Timbits/Initiation: $99

Shinny hockey is a recreational hockey program whose focus is to provide a non-competitive hockey environment for children ages 6-15 years. This program generally runs from October through March of each year, utilizing the arenas in Winkler, Plum Coulee and Roland.
